The resources below include a variety of materials that can be used to help educators meet the nutrition education requirement for FFVP.

Texas Seasonality Wheel - Use this tool to identify the seasons and growing regions that match your favorite fruits and vegetables.

Build Your Own Seasonality Wheel - Use this wheel to discover what Texas grown fruits and vegetables are usually in season each month. Available in English and Spanish.

Texas Produce Flash Cards - Use these cards to familiarize students with a variety of fruits and vegetables grown across Texas. Appropriate for grade 6-12 students.

Texas Harvest of the Month - Harvest of the Month materials spotlight fruits and vegetables grown in Texas throughout the year. Incorporating Harvest of the Month into your Farm Fresh activities provides an opportunity to focus on a specific fruit or vegetable each month, allowing children to try and learn more about each item.

Farm Fresh Video Player - Head over to the Farm Fresh video player to help students learn more about Texas agriculture and the role of fresh, local food in a healthy and active lifestyle.

Farm Fresh Learning Guide - This resource includes hands-on activities, educational videos, learning guides and curricula on topics like agriculture, cooking and nutrition, and gardening.

Let’s Get Growing - Note: FFVP funds cannot be used to purchase seeds, equipment, or other school garden inputs. However, FFVP funds can be used to purchase produce from school gardens. School gardens are also an excellent setting for providing nutrition education lessons.

USDA FNS Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Toolkit - This toolkit includes a variety of resources on nutrition education and encouraging children to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Texas Farm Fresh Network

The Farm Fresh Network is an online tool that allows school nutrition professionals to search for local producers across Texas who are interested in selling their products to schools. The listings provide location, contact information, delivery radius, products, and the months in which those products are available.

Assistance available in English and Spanish. Please call 877-TEX-MEAL (877-839-6325) for help. Additional translations services available as well.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
